Badia a Coltibuono
Badia a Coltibuono, Abbey of 1051, is the first wine resort in Chianti that offers a truly exceptional experience. With its 800 hectares of woodland, it is possible to go trekking, mountain biking, e-biking, hiking, all without leaving the property.
In the woods of Badia, you will also find Cetamura, our archaeological site with its sacred well and the birth of viticulture. The artifacts from the archaeological site are on display at the Origo Museum in Gaiole, just a few kilometres from our hotel.
We offer a unique Cooking Class experience on Tuscan cooking in a historic family kitchen, where Lorenza de' Medici was the leader. Today, the “Signore delle Cucine” continue her work. Tours of the Abbey, the thousand-year-old wine cellar and tastings of our wines, including historic vintages, make up to unforgettable days.
Guests can rest and relax in the magnificent Italian Garden, in the private pool with hydromassage or around the outdoor pool. At 650 meters above sea level, summertime provides pleasant temperatures and cool evenings in our panoramic restaurant. WiFi is available in the rooms and common areas.
